As you may know Me and Mark are looking for a classic race bike but they are hard to get, but
I was looking on the MGP website and noticed they are doing a Post Classic race this year. rules as follows:
POST CLASSIC ELIGIBILITY
Four Stroke 501-1000cc 2 valves per cylinder, cut off date 31st December 1981.
Two stroke 126-250cc Grand Prix Factory Bikes Steel frame or period aluminium frame, any brakes, any wheels, cut off date 31st December 1984.
126-250cc. Standard frames, Standard fairing, no airboxes. Any brakes. Cut off dates 1st January 1985 - 31st December 1991.
251-350cc Steel frame, any brakes, any wheels. Cut off date 31st December 1984.
351-500cc Two stroke up to 31st December 1982, Steel frame, any brakes, period fairing.
Opens up a big range of bikes which could be raced.
There are a lot of cheap 2 strokes RGV's, TZR,s KR1's etc which would meet the requirement for very little money. they could also be used in the Pre 97 class at the circuits.
Thought about the GS1000 as a possibility but to good to race and its shaft drive. The GPZ is to big CC wise.
If anyone knows odf a bike that would fit into one of the categorize about for little or no money then let me know
Jack

Good spot Jack. Does that mean that endurance Kwak which was on eBay would have qualified?? What sort of machines are we looking at in the four stroke category? Let me know and I'll keep my eyes open......... Out of interest, what about this one Mark.

Hi Looks the part mate, would do you. ;D ;D ;D You're not wrong mate - it would certainly be big enough that's for sure. Just wondering what year it is though If it's younger than 1980 (which I think it might be ) then we're stuffed. Mark.

I Emailed the owner about this but it 1988 so no good.
I have been watching a few on Ebay but they are all over the water,
I have an RGV frame, engine etc. but i am missing the forks and wheels. I think it is about 1989. I was planning on rebuilding the Aprilia, but i could rebuild the RGV (Same engine as Aprilia) but i would need to get a set of forks and a front wheel. I had adapted the RGV frame to take the Aprilia Swinging arm. Most of the bits are there just need the time to sort it out.
I will check the log book and see if it is eligible for the 250 cc 2 stroke class. Would not cost much to sort it out, a few hundred pounds.

And it's a Kwak! ;D How much do you reckon it would cost to get it over here? Might be worth checking if it's cheaper to pick up ourselves and bring back (maybe via Dublin?) or couriered? Something to look at after we get Friday and Saturday out of the way. Mark.

Mark I had a look at the CB350 K4 on ebay Looks the part ok,
It would be worth bidding on but there is still 6 days left so maybe we should let it run for a while.
Do you want to bid on it so we don't end up bidding against each other.
We could collect no problem if the guy could bring it to the boat.
Did you ring him, or ask what the reserve is to see if it is within our budget

I'll get in touch with the guy and see if he's willing to let us know the reserve. I'm happy to do the bidding and I'll leave it to nearer the time - I suspect it's going to attract a fair bit of interest. Marty, What do you reckon? Up for it mate? For everyone else, here's what we're looking at: Mark. PS. I've PM'd both of you to discuss a get together....... ;D
