...anyone? Old age is catching me up rightly and I'm fed up with the bending down/lying on the back scenario every tine I want to work on certain parts of the bike? The Abba Sky Lift caught my eye: Not the cheapest (£450 for my bike!) but certainly looks the business and would let me do all my usual cleaning/adjusting etc while sitting in my armchair with my pipe and slippers! I wonder if her in doors would notice........... M.

Well you scoffed when I wanted people to sign up for the work bench I offered a few years ago.
Although the Abba kit looks good, you have to buy bits specific to whatever bikes you have.
Also the bench that I advertised can be used for doing woodwork and many other jobs around the home.

And I stiff scoff - feckin woodwork!?! WTF? You'll be making rocking chairs next! I like the Sky Lift idea because you can get 360 degree access to the bike (which is what I'd want it for rather than making furniture... ) but, I don't go OTT on cleaning so I think I'd find it difficult to justify the cost just to let me get to those hard to reach areas now and again? M. PS. Can I borrow your bench?

Just go and buy the lift, you will easily sell it on when you no longer have a use for it without losing much on the purchase price, it looks a very good bit of kit, small and easily stored and it makes doing stuff on the bike so much easier.
Wish it had of been around when I was buying the bench.
You can have the loan of my bench anytime, you will need a van / trailer to move it and someone to give you a hand to lift it (it's about 100kg weight)

You're probably right - you only live once..... You could also sell the bench and get one? You've got to admit there's something rather snazzy about being able to do this: M.
