Phillip McCallen's has moved up from Lurgan to Lisburn and they're holding an Open Day this coming Saturday. Unfortunately I'll be elsewhere that day but it should be worth checking out if you've got a few spare hours. Here's the info:
"Motorcycles will be falling out of the sky in Lisburn on Saturday April 4 between 11.00am and 4.00pm.
But you shouldn’t need to take shelter just yet, because they’ll hopefully all be attached to world champion stuntman Kevin Carmichael, whose jumps, wheelies and stoppies on Triumphs shouldn’t really be allowed under the law of gravity.
Kevin is the guest of honour at the Official Opening of the new Triumph, KTM and Kawasaki showroom of Phillip McCallen, the former race ace who is third in the list of all-time Isle of Man TT winners, with 11 race victories, including an unequalled four races in one week in 1996. Phillip, who also notched up five wins from six starts at the 1992 North West 200 and five wins in one day at the 1996 Ulster Grand Prix but didn’t stop being a record breaker when he started to sell bikes rather than ride them, with his Triumph dealership in Lurgan, one of the most successful in the UK.
Now, he’s hoping that will get even better, with the new showroom in Lisburn not only more convenient, but twice the size of the old one.
“I can’t wait to show customers what a fantastic set up this will be, with three new purpose-built showrooms covering 10,000 square feet,” he said.
“We’ll have all the latest bikes from Triumph, KTM and Kawasaki on display, a wide range of accessories and a comprehensive selection of quality clothing. After sales, servicing and repairs will be carried out by factory-trained technicians in brand new state of the art workshop facilities and we’ve got comfortable seating areas where you can have a cup of coffee and watch TV while we look after your pride and joy.”
“There’s a full Dyno Rolling Road facility where we can tailor-map any bike. We’re agents for all the best performance products, including Dynojet, we’re an authorised Ohlins suspension centre and we specialise in suspension set-ups for both track and road bikes. We’re also agents for AGV, Schuberth and Caberg helmets, we’ve a full range of Kawasaki, KTM and Triumph clothing, and for the first time, we’ll be stocking the full range of Frank Thomas gear.”
How to get there:
From Moira take the old road to Lisburn. As you approach the town limits past SERE, turn left into Lissue Industrial Estate West (‘VicRyn’ furniture shop is on the corner). Portman Business Park is then the third entrance on the right. The new showrooms are at the far end of the block of units after Geddis Fireplaces.
From Lisburn town centre take the old road towards Moira. After Lissue Road and the Warmflow offices turn right into Lissue Industrial Estate West. Portman Business Park is then the third entrance on the right. The new showrooms are at the far end of the block of units after Geddis Fireplaces.
From the A1 dual carriageway and M1 Motorway take the road from the roundabout towards Lisburn and after passing under the motorway bridge turn left into Blaris Road. Continue to the end of Blaris Road and turn right onto Culcavy Road. Continue again to the end of the road to the junction and turn left towards Moira. The entrance to Lissue Industrial Estate West is a few hundred yards along on the right and then Portman Business Park is the third entrance on the right. The new showrooms are at the far end of the block of units after Geddis Fireplaces."
